Accuris Chief Partnership Officer will establish policies and strategic direction for the engineering standards professional organization

Denver, Colo., March 13, 2024 — Accuris, a leader in engineering workflow solutions, today announced that Jim Thomas, the company’s Chief Partnership Officer, has been named President-Elect of the Society for Standardization Professionals (SES). As President, Thomas will serve in a leadership role on the SES Board of Directors, establishing policies and strategic direction for the organization over a two-year term from 2026 to 2028.

“Broadly speaking, engineering graduates have a lack of exposure to the world of standards, and SES plays a vital role in developing a talent pipeline to ensure the standards industry continues to thrive,” said Thomas. “I’m honored to serve SES as its future President, where I'll help the organization chart its path forward for the professionals who will drive change and develop tomorrow’s engineering standards.”

SES is a not-for-profit professional membership society dedicated to furthering the knowledge and use of standards and standardization. The organization attracts skilled professionals and provides them with training, guidance and support in their standardization careers. SES also engages with colleges and universities, providing resources to students interested in in standards development and assisting them in building their skills.

“Jim leads with a vision geared towards market growth, leveraging new opportunities with existing international partners to further promote overall industry quality and safety,” said Jordan Burghardt, Managing Director of SES. “His strong passion for team development and global partner opportunities – with respect to business growth and sustainability – will lead SES forward, all while keeping an eye on emerging markets and technologies and digital transformation.”

As Chief Partnership Officer for Accuris, Thomas is responsible for developing and executing partnership strategies for current and future strategic partners of the organization including Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), National Standards Bodies (NSBs), channel partners, government, and other industry partners. Prior to Accuris, Jim worked in the engineering standards industry, holding leadership roles at ASTM International for 16 years.
